About Glaucoma
Glaucoma is a chronic condition that damages the optic nerve, usually due to increased
pressure inside the eye. It is a leading cause of irreversible blindness.
Why screening is critical
Glaucoma often has no symptoms in its early stages. Vision loss begins in the peripheral field and may go unnoticed until advanced.
Early screening enables:
- Detection before vision loss occurs
- Identification of high-risk patients
- Lifelong monitoring to prevent progression
Who should be screened?
- Patients over 40
- Those with a family history of glaucoma
- Patients with diabetes or hypertension
Management & services we offer
- Intraocular pressure measurement
- Optic nerve assessment and imaging
- Visual field testing
- Long-term glaucoma monitoring
- Medical management (eye drops)
- Laser treatment (e.g. SLT where appropriate)
Our goal is to preserve vision through early diagnosis and consistent care.
