About Diabetic Eye Disease
Diabetic eye disease, including diabetic retinopathy, occurs when high blood sugar damages the small blood vessels in the retina.
Why screening is essential
Patients may have no symptoms in the early stages, yet significant damage can already be occurring.
Regular screening allows us to:
- Detect early retinal changes
- Prevent vision-threatening complications
- Intervene at the right time
Who should be screened?
All patients with diabetes should have regular eye examinations, even if vision is normal.
Symptoms (later stages):
- Blurred or fluctuating vision
- Floaters or dark spots
- Vision loss
Management & services we offer
- Routine diabetic eye screening
- Retinal imaging and monitoring
- Laser treatment for diabetic retinopathy
